Though they are perhaps little things, it is these that detract from an overall wonderful game experience - that let's be honest - isn't cheap and we had looked forward to for so long. The Staff member who operated the dome was visibly annoyed that we won so many crystals and would have to operate the dome for longer, and had started clearing up before we were even down the stairs. The staff who reset the rooms (who's sullen demeanor slightly detracted from the whole ambiance that Randy was creating) could have been a little bit more hidden from view. We came back and were told to wait upstairs by the lockers - where somebody would come and greet us - which took a good 20 minutes.
We arrived to be told that our booking did not exist (despite having confirmation), and had to come back at a later time slot. The only downside to it was the Front of House experience. Randy was a fantastic host (wonderful scarf) and brought a fantastic energy to the game!
The Maze itself was fantastic - excellent puzzles, with a variety of challenges. Even if you had no idea what the Crystal Maze was (like our very young waitress at the restaurant we went to afterwards!), you would still have a good time. Overall I really enjoyed this, as did the rest of my group. And we didn't get to wear any cool jackets like it's shown on the website but not sure if that is a Covid thing, or if you need an upgraded ticket for. They don't really go in the middle like you would expect. Just because when the fans start it blows all the golden tickets around the side of the dome. The one thing I was disappointed about was the dome.
The games were just like on the TV show and were a lot of fun and some were also challenging! We had a wonderful maze master called Randy who guided us around the Crystal Maze and provided some helpful clues when needed! We had so much fun and the place was themed just like the TV show, the Aztec Zone looked amazing! I even loved just moving between the zones. Booked in for January 2022! Unfortunately half the group came down with Covid so phoned customer services to make them aware that we would only have 4 people, guy on the phone said fine and that we would still get exclusive use as we had 8 tickets, which we did!
